I can't decice

At this time the polls are saying that 49% will vote for a Democrat and 33% for a Republican, the rest who cares. In the last six months even though the shift was not significant, the Democrats lost 1% to the Republicans.

The polls currently read the following.

  • If Giuliani and Clinton face off, then we'll have a republican president with 48%
  • If Giuliani and Obama face off, then we'll have a democrat with 48%
  • Giuliani and Edwards then Giuliani with 47%
  • McCain and Clinton, then McCain with 47%
  • McCain and Obama, then Obama with 46%
  • Romney and Clinton, then Clinton with 48%
  • Romney and Obama, then Obama with 52%
  • Romney and Edwards, then Edwards with 50%

Democrats debate on war in Iraq

Democratic front-runners are criticized for not taking any measures to bring the war in Iraq to an end. After many attacks on Bush's war policy, the Democrats still haven't been able to come up with a solution for this issue.
The Iraq situation is proving itself to shape into the feared problem without solution, basically no matter what we do now there is not positive gain from it, the only thing left is damage control and even that will result in more deaths and monetary losses. If we pull out now a civil war might start claiming more Iraqi lives as opposed to staying in there longer which will claim more American lives. Oh well, we live and we learn and sometimes we die.

Second-tier dems still think they can

Even though looking at 2% votes Biden is encouraging his fellow dreamers that there is still enough time to make up the difference and catch up with Obama and Clinton,
"Our feeling is that as long as Iraq is the number one problem, whether it's New Hampshire or Iowa, we still have a major entree, said Biden's pollster, Celinda Lake."
It becomes difficult to understand how someone with 2% of the votes can come up with a solution for the Iraq situation, now after a while of campaigning. It seems improbable that someone who is laying dormant in the presidential race would be able to make an explosive return into the race.

Vermont, the first to secede

Vermont looking to secede, sounds like a joke but apparently the movement is gaining momentum, from T-shirts to manifestos, Vermont is looking to exit the Union. Because of an impression that the US is an empire about to fall, Vermont's preemptive secession idea is beginning to contradict those looking at it as simple act of rebellion.
Due to our political, economic and social state it is no wonder that certain states are starting to look at the option of becoming their own republic separate from the other states.

Relationships between US and Russia deteriorated

Putin feels threatened by NATO's expansion said that this move is going to ignite a new arms race similar to the first Cold War. Bush's reply defended the plan, stating that the missiles are intended to protect Europe from possible attacks from Iran and North Korea (isn't North Korea a little far though?). However, Putin made it clear that the missile plan is more threatening to Russia than to Iran or North Korea, considering that Iran does not have the missiles America intends to shoot down.
In conclusion, we are about to enter an era where world leaders have to compensate by showing who has the biggest missile.

This blog post has nothing to do with politics or any news but there are lots of video posts on YouTube about this French Reporter.
I have no idea what she is saying but she really hot and it makes listening to news in French a delight.

For a Democrat, a bribe $100,000, getting caught with $90,000 of it in your freezer, PRICELESS.

"U.S. Democratic Rep. William Jefferson was indicted on Monday on 16 criminal counts including soliciting bribes and paying off a Nigerian official, a U.S. Justice Department official said."

After finding $90,000 in the freezer, the FBI also came out with a video that shows Jefferson accepting $100,000 bribe. Finally a Democrat has been indicted on bribery charges and broke the trend of Republicans that have been found in trouble for such charges. No matter what side of the fence one is on, the bottom line is that both Democrats and Republicans have a price. For a Democrat, a bribe $100,000, getting caught with $90,000 of it in your freezer, PRICELESS.
